Speaker Tasks House Committee to Review Bauchi State Chieftaincy Bill Effectively

  The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman (Dangaladiman Ningi), has charged the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to thoroughly review and engage relevant stakeholders in the legislative process of the Bauchi State Chieftaincy Bill. The Speaker made the call during plenary today, following the presentation of the Bill by the Majority Leader, Hon. Saleh Hodi Jibir, who laid it before the House on behalf of the Executive Arm of Government, seeking formal and constitutional consideration. Having successfully passed its first and second readings, the Bill was referred to the Committee for detailed scrutiny. The Speaker emphasized the need for the Committee to conduct a public hearing involving traditional rulers, resource persons, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure inclusiveness, transparency, and fairness in the legislative process.
