Image
By: Musa Danladi Kullah Equity is a fundamental principle that every individual should uphold, regardless of the societal circumstances. Many Nigerians perceive the stars that God has ordained as a rig; however, the One who bestowed those stars upon us knows that we need their guiding light. The patriotism we need to practice involves supporting and praying for our leaders, as it is essential for the success of our society. The responsibility does not solely rest on the leader's shoulders but also on ours. Referring to the individual who sees success in the presidential election, it is crucial for them to recognize that their mandate comes with the knowledge that the cries of the masses have reached the divine realm. From political instability to economic struggles, Nigeria has been grappling with a range of issues that have hindered its progress and development. However, there is hope that this moment can be a turning point for the country, and that with the right approach, Nigerians can work together to address these challenges and build a brighter future. To address this challenge, Nigerians need to come together and demand a more accountable and transparent political s...

Prioritising agriculture in Nigeria

By: Florence Sunday Agriculture is the backbone of the Nigerian economy, providing employment, food security, and income for millions of Nigerians. The sector is also a significant contributor to the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and a source of foreign exchange earnings. Despite the importance of agriculture, the sector has not received the attention it deserves from past administrations, leading to a decline in productivity and output. Therefore, agriculture deserves utmost priority in Nigeria for several reasons. Firstly, agriculture is the largest employer of labor in Nigeria, providing jobs for over 60% of the population. Prioritizing agriculture would create more employment opportunities, especially in rural areas, where most farming activities take place. This would not only reduce unemployment but also alleviate poverty in the country. Secondly, agriculture is a major source of food for the Nigerian population. With a rapidly growing population, there is a need t...
